Dr. Gerald Pierone recently attended the 25th annual Conference on Retroviruses and Opportunistic Infections (CROI) in Boston.

This highly prestigious conference brings together leading, translational, and clinical HIV researchers from around the world to share the latest studies, important developments, and best known research methods in the ongoing battle against HIV/AIDS and related infectious diseases.

Dr. Pierone was the lead author of a study entitled VIROLOGIC RESPONSE TO 2-DRUG ART REGIMENS AMONG TREATMENT-EXPERIENCED HIV + PATIENTS.

This study described innovative approaches to treatment of HIV/AIDS focused on simplifying treatment and limiting potential long-term toxicities while maintaining control of HIV replication in heavily treatment experienced patients.
